Structural Engineer

An excellent opportunity has arisen to join our internal design team as a Structural Engineer. You will contribute to some of the UK's most iconic projects, working closely with project teams to develop innovative, engineered solutions. This role offers the chance to enhance your technical expertise, collaborate with experienced professionals, and develop towards a senior position.

About the Role

  • Provide safe, practical, and cost-effective design solutions in line with British and European standards and UK health and safety legislation.
  • Develop conceptual and detailed designs, including calculations, risk assessments, and drawings/models.
  • Work closely with the CAD team to support design implementation.
  • Assist construction teams by ensuring designs align with site requirements and sequencing.
  • Coordinate with suppliers and external consultants on design aspects.
  • Support design and process improvements within the department.
  • Apply innovative thinking to overcome structural challenges.

Development Responsibilities

  • Work under senior engineers to develop your technical and leadership skills.
  • Contribute ideas and collaborate on innovative design solutions.
  • Develop problem-solving skills for complex engineering challenges.

Your Experience

  • BEng/MEng in Civil or Structural Engineering
  • 3-6 years of structural design experience
  • Familiarity with Eurocodes, British Standards, and BS5975
  • Experience in concrete, steel, and timber design (EN & BS codes)
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and structural analysis tools
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills
  • Knowledge of UK Health and Safety legislation
  • Willingness to develop management skills for future leadership roles
