Laing O'Rourke are currently recruiting for a Senior Commercial Manager to specialise in Risk Management to work on the Ellison Insitute of Technology, in Oxford.
Responsibilities:
- Advising on the principles of risk management
- Determining how the various procurement routes will deal with risk
- Identifying and managing risk event mitigation strategies
- Knowledge and experience with risk management software
- Knowledge and experience with applying the techniques used to quantify risk
- Forecasting the effect of risk on schedule and cost
- Contributing towards the identification of risk Identifying who owns the risk in relation to the chosen procurement route
- Advising on strategies to mitigate risk Quantification of risk
- Considering the effect of risk on programme and management cost
- Advising on the appropriate methodologies and approach to risk on the project
- Ownership of the risk register and advising on appropriate risk mitigation strategies
- Quantify risk and advising clients on the appropriate level of contingency
- Data management analysis and visualisation experience
- Numerical and verbal communication skills
- Collecting and analysing data and making this data accessible to those who need the information to make decisions
- Expertise in using data to predict trends in delivery of the project programme
- Using tools and techniques to visualise data in easy-to-understand formats, such as diagrams and graphs
- Knowledge of Microsoft Excel and other office applications
Reports to: Change Management Lead
Requirements:
- QS or PQS bachelor degree qualified as preference but we will consider degrees in finance, project management or risk management
- 5yrs minimum experience in a commercial role post qualification on a building project >£100m in value
- Excellent analytical & communication skills
- Experience of managing senior stakeholders
- Ability to simplify complex problems and identify key remedy actions
