Section Engineer (5381)

Laing O'Rourke / Vetter are currently recruiting for a Section Engineer to work on the Ellison Institute of Technology.

Location: Oxford (Littlemore)

What will the role look like?

  • Supporting the development of designs, planning and costing
  • Drafting scopes under NRSWA for the mitigation, which include coordination of subcontractors and agreeing the works.
  • Coordination of site and construction works, in regard to logistic and programme planning.
  • Provide accurate dimensional control, and check that established by others, to enable the works to be constructed to the required tolerances as defined by the Contract / design documents.  Carry out surveys for design, as-built and payment purposes.
  • Assist site foremen and managers in supervising site operatives and sub-contractors ensuring that the works are constructed in accordance with design drawings, specifications and standards as defined by the contract documents.
  • Produce method statements and risk assessments to be approved by supervising engineers / managers and ensure that site operations take place in accordance with documents which detail safe systems of work, e.g. method statements, task sheets and procedures.

Requirements:

  • Degree in Civil Engineering Discipline, other construction related degree, or an industry recognised technical or engineering qualification (e.g. HNC, HND, NVQ level 4) plus demonstrable experience in a construction delivery environment.
  • Hard landscaping experience
