The Opportunity:

We are looking for an Organisational Resilience Lead to join the Security function at Laing O'Rourke, reporting to the Europe Hub Head of Security.  This role could be based from our corporate offices in Dartford, Sale or our manufacturing facility in Worksop, Nottinghamshire.

As the Organisational Resilience Lead you will be responsible for implementing and overseeing Business Continuity and Crisis Management policies and standards across the business.  You will serve as the primary contact for Business Continuity and Crisis Management planning and response, working closely with stakeholders and the wider security team. This role is crucial in safeguarding the company's operations and reputation.

What will the role look like?

  • Leading the ongoing development, management and embedding of LOR's Organisational Resilience Framework and meeting the needs of relevant regulations.
  • Driving LOR's business continuity and crisis management exercise programmes.
  • Reviewing and refining resilience controls/metrics used to assess vulnerability of mapped assets.
  • Coordinating and overseeing regular completion of resilience assessments across business areas.
  • Leading on the identification and implementation of continuous improvement strategies across resilience processes and procedures.
  • Managing the crisis management response and coordination to protect essential outcomes and effectively restore services.
  • Driving lessons learnt and support the implementation of identified actions to improve the incident response plan and improve business continuity.
  • Managing and maintaining compliance at all times regarding relevant governance, accreditation and resilience policies.
  • Building strong relationships across LOR's business areas and particularly IT in relation to the Disaster Recovery Strategy.
  • Maintaining a dynamic and engaging approach to resilience management through the delivery of an embedding programme, ensuring that resilience and best practice is embedded at all levels within the organisation.
  • Reporting key metrics and improvement areas to senior security management
  • Partnering with the security team to support the secure by design process, ISO accreditations and wider security portfolio.

What skills & experience are we looking for?

Essential:

  • Proven experience 5 years+ in an Organisational Resilience role, preferably in a corporate or industrial setting.
  • Proven track record in developing, maintaining and testing Business Continuity and Disaster Recovery Plans
  • Audit, assurance and review experience
  • Strong IT capability – Microsoft PowerBi
  • Self-motivated individual with an effective time management skill set

Desired:

  • Experience of conducting investigations
  • Experience of working with ISO 27001 standards
  • Knowledge and application of physical security principles, methodologies, risk assessments and industry standards
  • Understanding of security compliance
