Design Manager (4881)

Laing O'Rourke are currently recruiting for a Design Manager to work on an infrastructure (rail) project in Birmingham.

Scope of works: Architecture & Facades

This is an essential requirement, we structure our function to have a team looking after the Civils / Geotechnical elements, then another looking after architecture / façade elements.

Role & responsibilities:

-   Supports our consultant teams to maximise their effectiveness and value optimisation in the provision of effective integrated design solutions that meet our clients our business needs (strategies and budgets).
-    Maximises the effectiveness of consultant relationships.
-    Reviews design delivery to enhance quality of solutions and efficiency of design, procurement, manufacturing, assembly, commissioning and handover of total engineering excellent solutions for our clients.
-    Supports our consultants in adopting LOR's design processes, deliver with rigour and quality project management processes and to ensure effective collaboration throughout the supply chain (using appropriate tools for this including, but not limited to, BIM/Digital Engineering).
-    Captures business knowledge and capability enabling continuous improvement, innovation and improved capability towards an Engineering Enterprise.

Requirements:

- First degree in Architectural or Engineering Discipline. Or other appropriate construction related qualification.

- Architecture / Facade experience within a Design Management role.

- Experience end to end in managing design – from concept to handover.
