Laing O'Rourke are currently recruiting for an Assistant Digital Build Engineer (Digital Build Assistant) to join the team in Oxford on the Ellison Institute of Technology.
This is an office based role.
Role & responsibilities:
• Development and agreement of the project Digital Build Scope with the project delivery team including the assignment of scoped items to design partners.
• Reviewing third party design package interfaces with Digital Build and ensuring that dependencies are considered and captured within project Information Required Schedules (IRS).
• 3D modelling of permanent and temporary works elements as per agreed Digital Build scope.
• Input of Digital Build metadata to modelled elements and management of third-party metadata requirements.
• Raise RFIs and BimCollab issues generated by Digital Build and Digital Review with relevant design partners.
• Issuing of coordinated and complete model content for ‘setting-out' on site. Models issued to be used in Quantification exercises and onto Trimble Connect for trades to use for construction.
• Preparation of pre-execution pack issue Solibri check reports for inclusion in Precast Detailing Execution packs issued to Centre of Excellence for Modern Construction (CEMC)
• Ensure project access to a federated Digital Build Model updated every two weeks as a minimum.
• Contribution to Digital Build review meetings attended by Project Technical Leads, Project Engineers, DfMA Engineer, PTS Lead, Detailing Lead and Lead Digital Engineer.
Requirements:
Qualifications (preferred)
- Working towards a Degree in Engineering discipline (Civil Engineering / Structural Engineering), or other construction related degree.
- Working towards an industry recognized BIM specific accreditation or structured training, or Chartership.
Experience
- Some experience working within construction interfacing with trades and/or Design Consultants.
- Able to demonstrate understanding of common construction methods.
- Capable of offering guidance to Technicians and Students.
